Assessment of leadership style of comprehensive universities in Tehran based on cybernetic model

Abstract

Research in terms of purpose, applied; The approach was quantitative and descriptive survey. The statistical population of the research included 4447 faculty members of Tehran University, and 354 people were selected as a sample using proportional stratified sampling. The research data was collected through a researcher-made questionnaire inspired by the Birn Baum standard questionnaire (1988) and based on the views of experts and specialists in this field. The mentioned questionnaire was prepared and distributed based on 6 basic components based on the five-point Likert spectrum. The formal and content validity of the questionnaire was confirmed by several experts, experts and faculty members of the studied field, and after making changes and corrections. The reliability of the questionnaire was calculated using Cronbach's alpha coefficient and 83/. Obtained. Also, the research data was analyzed using SPSS 24 software. The findings of the study showed that the state of comprehensive state universities in Tehran were in a good state in terms of the degree of alignment with the components of the cybernetic model in the components of control, leadership, hierarchy and decision-making. According to the results of the research, the control component had the highest level of alignment with the cybernetic model, which shows the emphasis of university managers on following the instructions and laws. In the component of interactions and the component of loose and hard ties, which emphasizes the connection between universities and the needs of the society, it has not had a suitable status. Therefore, it is appropriate for the studied universities to make more efforts in the fields of links and interactions and to plan and take action to strengthen and improve the mentioned components.
