Lived experience of the staff of the Islamic Azad University of Isfahan (Khorasgan) of bullying in the workplace and its antecedents and consequences

Abstract

Therefore, considering the importance of bullying in the workplace and its negative consequences, the present study aims to describe and identify the experiences of Islamic Azad University staff of bullying in the workplace. The research method is applied in terms of purpose and in terms of how to collect qualitative information using phenomenological method. The maximum differentiation of samples was collected from 22 employees who were selected by purposive sampling method. In order to evaluate the reliability of the results, the three approaches of Rao and Perry (2003) were used. For the validity of the research, Lincoln and Goba (2007) structural validity approaches, external validity, descriptive validity, and interpretive validity were used. A modified aesthetic-collage method is used to analyze the data. The findings showed that bullying in the workplace, including the three main categories of organizational background, the characteristics of bullies, and the characteristics of victims were classified and the consequences in three categories: organizational consequences and individual consequences and performance of bullies.
